Donald Kettelkamp, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Donald Kettelkamp grew up in rural Iowa on a Dairy Farm. He attended Iowa State University for both his undergraduate bachelor’s degree and his doctor of veterinary medicine degree. In veterinary school, he met his beautiful wife, whom is also a veterinarian. They have two busy teenage boys. After graduating from Iowa State Veterinary College, he and his wife began working in a veterinary clinic that saw both large and small animals in Anamosa, Iowa. Dr. Kettelkamp’s focus was mainly with dairy cattle, but would also care for all species of large and small animals. After moving to North Carolina in 2006, Dr. Kettelkamp worked with the USDA in public health, worked in emergency medicine, and began working strictly with small animals. With years of practice in veterinary medicine, he has developed experience with both large and small animals, and is a skilled soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. He also has years of emergency medicine experience.
Away from work, Dr. Kettelkamp enjoys traveling the world with his adventurous wife and boys. He and his wife have travelled to all 7 of the world’s continents. He was a commercial pilot and flight instructor for years and still teaches students to fly some Saturdays. Dr. Kettelkamp also enjoys weight lifting, jogging and attempting to keep up with his active wife and boys.
